really old updates!

this is all really really old news.

so, the show at the paradise lounge was successful enough for us to get ourselves another show out of the deal. it will be downstairs at the middle east on a wednesday, the 28th of november. we anticipate no one being able to attend, but this coming friday we play a show in worcester at the lucky dog. it is mandatory that you attend THAT show .
we also have been offered another show in worcester on december 16th at tammany hall.

so as of this posting, our schedule is as follows:

friday, november 16th. lucky dog, worcester. 21+

wednesday, november 28th, middle east downstairs. cambridge.

sunday, december 16th, tammany hall. worcester

sunday, january 6th, middle east upstairs, cambridge. 18+

(10-3-07) we have three shows coming up as of right now. one next week at the paradise lounge, one on november 16th at the lucky dog, and one on january 6th at the middle east upstairs. check out the shows page for the details.
the show next week should be a blast, since we have not been practicing as much as we should be lately.

(9-9-07) thanks to everyone who came to check us out at atmmany hall. sorry to those of you who couldn't make it because of how vague our set time was. next time things will be better. if there ever is a next time. rumor has it we made a good impression on the powers-that-be.

(8-15-07) the rumors and innuendo are true. we are returning to the metro west area to play a show in worcester at tammany hall on spetember 8th. it will be all ages and start at 4:00pm.
if you're under 21 it will cost you $10.00 to get in the door, while if you are over 21 it will cost you $8.00.
it's a saturday, and there is plenty of time left after the show for you to do those saturday night things like wash your hair and groom your dogs. don't make up some lame excuse, you owe it to yourself to take in a good solid show from some of your best friends. and as john lewis has always said, "don't be late".

(7-21-07) pictures from the avalon show are up on the pictures page and the pictures from the show at T.T. the bear's place will be up sooner than later as well. also, we are throwing our hats into the ring and attempting to play another battle of the bands. in this competition, we have to get enough votes before we can even play a show. so go here apparently you can vote once a day, so do it and we'll play some more shows for all to see.

(6-30-07) a huge thank you is owed to everyone who came out to the the avalon last night. though we did not make it to the ultimate final judging round, we had an amazing time. you guys made us feel like rock stars. we don't deserve fans as devoted and enthusiastic as you. actually, that's a lie. we definitely do. so keep coming out to see us.
our next show will be july 15th at t.t. the bear's place in cambridge, right next door to the middle east. our set list will be at least twice as long as the 20-plus minute allotment we had for the avalon. that's right, a full 45 minutes. that means we can shoehorn at least 20 songs in. this show is not to be missed.

(6-5-07) as many already know, we are playing at the avalon in the emergenza boston finals on june 29th at 7:45pm. that show is all ages and it will cost you $15.
we are also playing a show at T.T. the bear's place, next to the middle east, on july 15th. we will go on at 11:00pm. it will be 18+ and cost $7 at the door. treat yourself and come to both shows. it will be better than a poke in the eye.

(5-1-07) i don't know how many people actually read this, but we need people to vote for us at our next show. so for those of you who are buying a ticket, bring along a co-worker or that special someone. trust us, they'll be impressed.

(3-3-07) well, we made it to the third round of this year's emergenza festival. our next show will be sometime in may. details forthcoming. thanks to everyone for coming out once again. we love all of you, probably to an embarassing degree.

(1-1-07) we're back up and running here at campaign headquarters after a solid week mired in the limbo that is expired domain names. the news is this: we came in first place in the votes at our last show and our next show as of right now is on march 2nd at the middle east downstairs. as is the norm for the emergenza festival we will be selling tickets to those of you who want to be in attendance. it's a friday night, so be prepared. we may have a couple of new songs that night as well, but no promises are being made right now.
also, we received our final mastered version of our first official release. so the next step is either saving up enough money to release it ourselves, or peddle it to some labels and see if we get lucky. until then, be on the lookout for a little sampling of tracks in the near future to be circulating around here and there...

(10-4-06) it's early to be talking about this, but we are playing a show upstairs at the middle east on november 30th.
it is the first round of this year's emergenza festival, and for those of you who did not go last year it is like a battle of the bands that goes on from this november until next june. it includes more than 250 bands in boston alone and thousands more worldwide. there are four rounds in boston, each at larger and larger venues, culminating in the final round for the northeast at avalon. the winner from boston moves on to the national finals and eventually to the world finals in germany.
we intend to at least make it through the end of the first night.
unlike elections in this fine coutry of ours, your vote will actually count at the end of our set. more details to come, and some info is on the 'live dates' page.

(9-27-06) so it's official. we are recording our very first, long-overdue studio recording in mid-october. the time has been booked and we are locked in. we anticipate getting at least five songs committed to a final version during these sessions.

(9-11-06) there are pictures and live mp3s from the show on september 10th up on the appropriate pages. it's all free because we intend to stay poor.

(8-30-06) something very big is happening on september 10th. it will mark a milestone in whisper campaign's lifespan. the show we are playing on that night will be a show that we all would have been attending whether we were playing on that night or not. whenever retisonic plays we always go to see them because they are amazing, and on that night we will be sharing a stage with them. sreams come true. this is proof. the show details are in the shows section. hope you can drag yourself out to see us. if not, you're a douche.

(5-29-06) a bunch of new pictures can be seen in the pictures section of the site, and we are playing a show with the ricecookers on june 24th. be there. info on the shows page

(5-15-06) well, we came in third in the semi-finals of emergenza. thank you to everyone who came to all of ths shows and supported the just and true cause. we never expected to make it this far and we were humbled by the turnout. maybe next year we'll make the finals. now we will concentrate on getting something recorded so that it is no longer mandatory that you attend shows in order to hear us.

(3-5-06) well, because of those of you who were awesome enough to come to our show at the middle east on friday night we moved on to the next round of Emergenza.
WE ARE OFFICIALLY PLAYING AT THE PARADISE ON MAY 11TH.
it will be earlier (9:00pm) and your votes will count again. this time there will be nine bands playing and ONLY ONE WILL ADVANCE to the regional finals at Avalon based on the audience vote. we aren't delusional and we don't realistically think that we can move on to the next round when there are bands out there who are selling their entire book of 150 tickets, but those of you who came to the downstairs show at the middle east know that we probably deserve it more than most of the other bands who played that night. so please do what you can to get your friends to come out to see us play at one of the biggest venues in Boston. we will do everything in our power to make it worth your while.

(2-5-06) it's official. there are now three whisper campaign shows coming up within the next month and a half. if you go to all three of them you get yourself a snazzy commemorative blumpkin. the schedule looks a little like this:

(1-27-06) for those of you who check this (pretty much no one besides me and jason and lavallee) we are playing a show in worcester at the lucky dog the day after valentines day. february 15th. if there's a song you want to hear that we play, let us know because we are playing whatever crap anyone wants to hear. our setlist consists of zero songs yet. we will have tickets to the middle east show for anyone who wants one as well. and shirts. as the late, great mister miyagi said: you want see, come inside.

(12-28-05) the shirts are in. as you may or may not know, we ordered some shirts with our band name and logo on them. we now have them in our posession and they come in all sizes from small to extra large and in black, blue, red, green and brown. ten bucks and they are yours. send us an email or call to reserve a color or size because we don't have that many. what we have left will be at the show on march third at the middle east downstairs. you have been warned.

(11-28-05) well, save the date. the next show on our schedule, round two, downstairs at the middle east will be march 3rd, 2006. as more details avail themselves to us we will put them up here on the site. for right now, all we know is that it is in fact a friday night and we go on at 11:00pm. thankfully we will not have to try and drag anyone out on a thursday night because of the good impression our crowd made on the powers that be. again, we thank you all for making it such a totally tubular night. we have tickets to the next show.

(10/5/05) well, when it rains it pours as the kids say. we have added another show to our upcoming world tour schedule. it will be at jarrod's place in attleboro massachusetts, it will be on FRIDAY NOVEMBER 4th, it will cost $10.00 to get in, but only $8.00 if you get a flyer from us (we might put one up on this here website for anyone to print out as soon as they are available). it is an 18 plus show and we take the stage at 8:45p.m. doors open at 4p.m.

(9/27/05) yes, it has been confirmed and your worst fears have been brought from mere sick fantasy into a cold reality. we are playing a show at the middle east in boston and it will not be pretty. our only hope is that they have removed any and all foam insulation that may catch fire during our outrageous pyrotechnic display. here are the gory details:

this show is part of the emergenza festival which is like an ongoing battle of the bands type deal, so at the end of our set you will cast your vote by a show of hands whether or not you think we should emerge victorious from the nights carnage and proceed to the ensuing concerts and what have you. judging by the turnouts at our previous efforts at some of the other classy concert venues we have played, we are most certainly and solemnly doomed. but come and support us nonetheless because when we become rich and famous we will most certainly not reimburse you any of the money you spent to see us, but we might mention you in a blanket statement of gratitude to our fans buried somewhere deep in our cd cover. how can you pass that up?!

(5-16-05) it's been too long since anything has been written here. a couple of days ago the three of us got together and recorded an acoustic version of the newest song, and yes, the rumors are true. there is a jaw-harp solo in this song, so what i suggest you do is listen to it immediately after reading this message and tell everyone that there is something new here from whisper campaign that is damn near mind-blowing. much obliged.

(3-5-05) there is a new video up on the video page from our last show. we all personally want you to enjoy seeing and hearing it. check back to see if we are playing more and more and more shows, becasue it is upon that that we plan.

(2-14-05) thank you to everyone who attended the show on friday night. so many people came and it made us feel special. we would take a bullet for each and every one of you, but probably not in the chest. or the head. but you are all totally awesome.

(12-27-04) we're back online after a two-day hiatus (our domain name expired) with nothing new to report, aside from the fact that eric received a sparkly new marshall amplifier from the other two throbbing members of whisper campaign. it is now and only now that the rock and roll can commence unabated and at maximum volume.

(12-13-04) the hits just keep on coming. a new song has just been written and is in its infancy. it will most likely be recorded within the next couple of weeks. also, it has come to the attention of the campaign that there is a DVD of live shows being produced by the master of multimedia and king of armenia, Givenchy (his name sounds french, but he's not). keep checking back for the details.

(11/30/04) added the lyrics to the two newest songs. they will be recorded this weekend in demo format, as is our custom. still on the quest for shows, but woe alas, there is no news to report on that front.

6/24/03.... long has been the struggle for putting the two new songs up which were recorded yesterday in under ten takes each. god bless wavelab 4.0. and may a thousand curses fall upon my filled up hard drive. leg hold mythology is now available for immediate download in a rough demo version, much like the other songs. someday we'll sound as good on here as we do live. someday... but in the meantime it's the best we can do. demos are so goddamned punk rock. makes me want to get a tattoo of a safety pin on my forehead.

the new lyrics are up, but due to eric's horrible driving record practices have been relegated to the weekends, which have proven to have been busy of late. result: no recordings yet. but be aware that there is yet another new song in the works (and as of right now neither of the jays have heard any of it because eric is a secretive whore) and both of these new masterpieces will probably be recorded at the same time. so for now just give us good ratings on rate our band and stuff and listen to our songs, memorize them, share them with your friends. if you want stickers email one or all of us and we will send them immediamente. thank you.

for now that's it. you have plenty of warning to take the day off on april 29th so that you can stay out late to see us play at the skybar.

and a quick update on lavallee's tuner: the dude on ebay decided that his ass just wasn't loose enough and needed a good reaming. the thing buzzes and hums like some sort of malfunctioning "muscle massager". anyone good with electronics? what a mess. now he's looking at getting a new one. poor bastard. at least his bass sounds decent now that he has strings on it worthy of the touch of a man's fingers.

big news on the trance buddha show. the band list is shaken up a little but as of right now, for all we know it's still happening and these are the bands involved: saving grace, tangerine 8, american bloody register, borderline, and whisper campaign.

3/24 new song finally recorded and put up on the main page. elephants and donkeys. enjoy it if you dare.

3/24 sometime next week there should be all new songs up here with the same acoustic attributes and much less wild variation. we just purchased a 12 track sound board and a new set of drum mics. this should facilitate a much better quality recording and also show the actual versions of some of the songs that have undergone changes in the past few months. should be an exciting relaunching of the whole whisper campaign experience. but not as exciting as the show this friday.

eric is heralding the arrival of his sparkly new left-handed danelectro 56-u2 guitar. it has not left his side since it's arrival 2/22

jason is in passionate love with his sparkly new pearl drum set, but has yet to decide on an appropriate stick size for his interminable wailing

lavallee is currently on the market for a reasonable replacement for his workhorse ibanez bass guitar and is accepting all offers
